Basuki Wants Alms Collection Done Through Bank Transfer

Jakarta Muslim Charitable Donations Board (BAZIS) have distributed alms as much as Rp 3.8 billion to 7,140 mustahiq (alms receivers). By transferring (alms), data will be recorded so we’ll know who’s poor, thus we could help them better,” uttered Basuki in Peduli Ramadan 2014 event held by Jakarta BAZIS at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (7/15).
If Jakarta BAZIS still applied cash system next year, Basuki threatened will reduce the amount of alms he gave routinely every year.

In that occasion, Basuki handed out donations to mustahiq, such as janitors, parking attendants, mosque caretakers, graveyard keepers, and underprivileged people. In addition, he also gave awards to outstanding operational officers, namely South Jakarta Administration, Setiabudi Sub-District, Kuningan Timur Urban Village, and Jakarta Tax Services Department.
